Sky Nelson
“Musician’s Musician” Sky Nelson’s music and physics work are inspirational and grab the attention of people’s hearts and minds. Sky has been a pianist since the age of 4, and is trained in classical, R&B, pop, rock and jazz. He is a veritable one-man-band, using only his synthesizer (and often a group of backup singers) to create an uplifting “sound” which challenges the audience to a deeper understanding of themselves. Sky has received songwriting awards with West Coast Songwriter’s for Best Song and Best Performance (three times). He has also received awards from Indie International Song Contest for “Live in Love” and “We Are the Ones (We’ve Been Waiting For)”. Sky has had seven previous CD’s of original music spanning multiple genres. His newest work, “The World Ocean”, (available at www.skynelson.com) is a prophetic singer-songwriter album inspired by dreams of giant tsunamis and rising water levels. It is written for a time of immense global change and overwhelming transitions. Yet hearing his music is just the beginning of understanding Sky. Sky is a trained physicist and a dedicated social activist. All his talents come together in his vision for a planet living in alignment with itself, through the physics of synchronicity. His background is telling of his expertise. Sky was professionally trained as a physicist at UCBerkeley, and received a teaching credential from Sonoma State University. Sky spent nine years teaching physics in both high-school and college classrooms. The experience in 2008 of handing his music video “We Are the Ones (We’ve Been Waiting For)” directly to then-candidate Barack Obama, along with a string of other intentional synchronicities, led Sky to develop a theory on the physics of meaningful coincidences. His theory has been presented over the past year at a number of conferences (Society for Scientific Exploration, Boulder CO; Toward a Science of Consciousness, Tucson, AZ; Science and Non-Duality conference, San Rafael, CA; Asilomar United Centers for Spiritual Living conference, CA), and is forthcoming for publication in the Journal for Scientific Exploration. The theory is based on understanding how quantum mechanics applies to our everyday worold, and it brings up (and attempts to answer) several metaphysical questions. Sky has had two articles published in New Thought publications in 2009 on the physics of synchronicity. (June 2009, Science of Mind Magazine, 'When Fate Follows Free Will': http://www.scribd.com/doc/22722653/SOM-Mag-June-2009, Fall 2009, New Thought Magazine article: http://www.scribd.com/doc/22719702/New-Thought-Magazine-How-I-Use-Physics-to-Pray-Sky-Nelson) Sky was the Music Director for Global Heart Center for Spiritual Living in 2008-2009. Sky has offered a workshop with co-leader Rev. Barbara Leger titled “When Somebody MUST Win, Everybody Loses”, which touches on the relationship between his physics work and the philosophy of Science of Mind. Based on his work in physics and his own spiritual experiences, Sky believes that our civilization is on the brink of a major Renaissance of human creativity. The breakthroughs in human thinking will come from a deeper understanding of the laws of nature tied in with an understanding of the Self. Sky is dedicated to helping that period to arrive by first developing the physics, then living the principles in his own life, and sharing them through his music. http://www.skynelson.com http://www.expectingsynchronicity.com |
